Edit Items
Update your record data
Editing an item means changing the data of an existing record within a category — such as updating a status, correcting a value, filling a pending field, or modifying a responsible party.
ENSPACE offers three ways to edit items, in addition to bulk updates.
Through the Actions menu
In the items table, click the Actions dropdown of the desired item and select Edit. The edit form will open (in sidebar or window mode, depending on configuration) with the fields filled in and ready for changes.
After making the changes, click Submit to save.
Inline editing in the table
Double-click any table cell to edit the value directly in place. The field opens for editing without leaving the table. To cancel, press Esc.
For more complex fields (such as Address or Person/Company), a modal is displayed with all required subfields. Inline editing works for all field types.
If you do not have permission to edit the field, the cell will be locked.
Through the dedicated item screen
When accessing the item screen (via Actions > Access), click the edit button in the corner of the view folder. The fields in the folder will be enabled for editing directly on the screen.
Bulk update
In addition to individual editing, it is possible to update multiple items at once by uploading a spreadsheet. The Bulk Actions modal (accessible through the gear icon in the toolbar) contains the Bulk Update tab, where you:
- Select the corresponding form.
- Click Download Template to obtain the spreadsheet in the correct format.
- Fill out the spreadsheet with the updated data and upload it.
- Optionally enable Resolve Expressions so that fields with expressions are recalculated.
For more details, see Bulk Actions.
Version history
If the item versioning feature is enabled in the category, each edit generates a new version of the item. You can review previous versions and, if necessary, restore them.
Every edit — regardless of versioning — generates an entry in the workspace audit log, recording who edited and when. The log can be accessed on the Logs screen.
Flows after editing
If the category has a flow configured with an update trigger, the flow will start automatically when saving the changes.
