Update Record
Allows the agent to edit the data of an existing record in the workspace.
When to enable this tool
Use this tool when the user wants to change information on a record that already exists in the workspace — such as changing the status, updating a value, correcting data, or registering new information.
Practical examples:
- "Change the status of case PROC-001 to Closed"
- "Update the value of contract CON-458 to $85,000"
- "Register that service ticket AT-003 was completed today"
What the agent can do
- Change one or more fields of a record without overwriting the others
- Mark a record as draft or published
- Update any field of the category the record belongs to
Information the agent uses
| Information | Description |
|---|---|
| Category | The category of the record to be updated |
| Reference code | The unique code that identifies the record |
| Fields to change | The fields and their new values |
Only the provided fields are changed — the rest remain intact.
Important notes
- It is not possible to move a record from one category to another
- The record's unique code cannot be changed
- Required field validations and uniqueness rules continue to apply during updates
