Allows the agent to modify the settings of an existing field in a category.


When to enable this tool

Use this tool when the agent needs to correct or update information on already created fields, such as renaming a field, adding new options to a selection list, or updating the help text displayed to users.

Practical examples:

  • Rename the "Status" field to "Case Status"
  • Add a new option ("Suspended") to the existing status dropdown
  • Fix the help text of a field that users don't understand

What the agent can do

  • Rename fields and change their description
  • Update selection field options (add, remove, reorder)
  • Change the field's help text, instruction, and placeholder
  • Change a field's color or icon

Important notes

  • The field type (text, number, date, etc.) cannot be changed after creation
  • The field's internal identifier also cannot be changed
  • Fields cannot be deleted — use the deactivate option when they are no longer needed
  • When replacing a selection field's options, the entire list is replaced at once — include all desired options, not just the new ones
