Try features before everyone else

The Lab is the area of ENSPACE where experimental features are available — resources that are still in development or in a validation phase before becoming an official part of the platform.

Each feature available in the Lab has an on/off switch. This allows you to choose which features you want to test without affecting the rest of your experience on the platform. Everything can be disabled at any time.

To access it, click the icon with your initials (or your photo) in the top right corner of the screen, select "User Settings", and navigate to the Lab tab.

How it works

When accessing the Lab, you will see a list of features available for testing. Each one is displayed as a card that contains:

• Name and description — what the feature does.
• Risk level — indicates the stability level of the feature (low, medium, or high).
• Documentation — link to the specific documentation for the feature, when available.
• Status — toggle to enable or disable the feature. If you want to enable or disable all features at once, use the Enable All and Disable All buttons at the top of the list.

New feature banners

When a beta feature is released, a banner automatically appears at the top of the screen for all users who access the affected area. The banner informs you that you are viewing a new layout or feature.

The banner offers the following options:

• Return to the original version — returns to the previous version at any time. When returning, the banner button changes to Try new version, allowing you to switch between versions whenever you want.
• Close the banner — click the "X" to dismiss the notification. This does not disable the feature. When the feature leaves beta and becomes official, the banner and the feedback button are automatically removed.

Feedback

ENSPACE offers two ways to send feedback about experimental features:

• Via the banner — click the feedback icon on the banner itself. You will be able to rate the experience from 1 to 5 stars and leave a comment.
• Via the Lab — on the card of each feature within the Lab, it is also possible to submit your evaluation. The feedback is used by the ENSPACE team to understand which features were well received, which need adjustments, and which should be discontinued.

Recommendations

• Enable only the features you want to test.
• When possible, try the features in testing environments before using them in production.
• Send feedback whenever you find errors, inconsistencies, or have suggestions for improvement.
